Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new affixes. They can also increase its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item upgrader, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Typically items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or received as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player has to choose it and click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item upgrader kit is able to be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

Once an item has been finished being leveled in this way, it is capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to receive affixes that will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's type. For example the rare or exclusive weapon with a normal base will have only two affixes available for it and legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item is not able to reach its max level The NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of material but will have lower chances of success.

To measure the height of a building engineers use a level to compare the measurement to a known reference point like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are built to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically improve an item's strength, damage, or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the item upgrader kit (try Telegra) menu, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a good or a negative thing depending on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added into the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater chances of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also includes number set that grants the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a character without spending a lot of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. Rerolling is a way to get a more powerful character faster, allowing you to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up in different ways. They can be of different dimensions, have none of the elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

There are many set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets with high defense values or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, most upgrades to weapons don't improve the stats of the item upgrades when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Some set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions, which can be particularly useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to par with the different tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the required items to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their performance. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
