World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item upgrades, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

In the endgame, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade item component that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This can be a disadvantage, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player continuously enters or exits the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the maximum roll by 10 points. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can result in the item upgrades returning to its original state which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item upgrading will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance, attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than normal equipment. For example they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs that are listed above.
