Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one session without the need to switch devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.

You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has completed, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand although we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It is able to change its path in a way that is automatic and clean around them without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.

The only downside I've found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash manually. I've found any plush carpet that the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading best robot cleaner vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry debris, including pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand The X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It also can detect the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available, but it packs in many additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature on its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a good way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also offers a number of features that aren't offered on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is well designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
