The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum cleaner best hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its price is surprisingly low and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on bare floors They are also adept at cleaning hair from dogs. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or in school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also features a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensor technology that can keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and offer cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can change the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something hasn't been seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot hoover and mop uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For larger houses, it's worth opting for one with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a specific area of your home by using the app or via voice commands. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off can be very beneficial.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app also provides access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like adorable eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
