The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the two side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums that mop (like it) vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't make as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and works well, but this is something that you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our test, but it also has distinct features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot cleaner or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to switch on a child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
